My Dream House

My walls outside must have some flowers
My walls inside must have some books
A House that is small and a garden large
And in its hefty nooks
A little gold that is sure every week
A lovely wife and gentle too
Contended that no eyes but mine
Can see all her virtues not vice
And call her beauty nice
Within this small house, this garden large
This little gold, this lovely mate
With health in body and peace at heart
Show me man more Great...

I Am There

I cannot ease your aching heart,
Nor take your pain away,
But let me stay and take your hand
And walk with you today!

I'll listen when you need to talk;
I'll wipe away your tears.
I'll share your worries when they come;
I'll help you face your fears.

I'm here and I will stand by you,
Each hill you have to climb,
So take my hand, let's face the world;
Live one day at a time!

You're not alone, for I'm still here.
I'll go that extra mile,
And when your grief is easier,
I'll help you learn to smile!

My Heart Hopes

I was sitting behind you
Blind to the world around me
And watch the sunlight on
Your lovely long hair shine...

Your beautiful face was for me
The most beautiful sight in the office
Helping me to work with glee
Filling my loneliness with your eyes

Others around me in groups were speaking
I can't hear them as if they were unknowing

But in the midst of your friends
I was searching my eyes so blue
For a glimpse of You

But I also knew that
You were oblivious to my presence
Though I, who wasn't in the proper sense
Was searching for a look of your face then

And then suddenly my dreams shattered
As I saw you with a boy speak
And my soft heart ever so meek
Started picking up its pieces you had scattered

At his jokes you were laughing
And looking at him you were smiling
His company seem to fill you with joy
Though my mind was constantly questioning
Why not me? Why he?, With a cry

But then a thought filled my
Heart with delight
Just as darkness is dispersed by rays of light
Just as the stars are to the night
Just as the spring is to the rain
Just as the beats are to the heart
Just as the trees are to the earth
Just as the sea is to the ocean
Just as the foam is to the river
And the arrows are to the quiver
And you are mine forever and ever and ever....

My Dreams

"I have gotta speak to you", Said I
With fear in the heart, hopes in the eye,
"About What?", Asked She
"About the trees, about the flowers
About the stars, about the clovers
About the breeze, about the showers
About the weather, about the sea
About You About Me"

Replies She,
"Oh my dear, don't you see
My heart in its every beat
Is filled with only your name so sweet
Like the star twinkling in the sky
My heart on seeing you begins to flutter and fly
Today I announce with neither care nor fear
I do Love You really, my darling dear"...

Then from my Dreams, I opened my eyes
To the naked, brutal, honest truth
All these were a bunch of lies
Fragments of the imagination of my mind
Since many days I haven't seen her smile
The girl who made me loose my sleep
Whose memories in my heart I keep
Because whom for many days I haven't met
I, constantly, lonely, slowly, silently weep...

A Child's Hymn

Hear my prayer, O heavenly Father,
Ere I lay me down to sleep;
Bid Thy angels, pure and holy,
Round my bed their vigil keep.

My sins are heavy, but Thy mercy
Far outweighs them, every one;
Down before Thy cross I cast them,
Trusting in Thy help alone.

Keep me through this night of peril
Underneath its boundless shade;
Take me to Thy rest, I pray Thee,
When my pilgrimage is made.

None shall measure out Thy patience
By the span of human thought;
None shall bound the tender mercies
Which Thy Holy Son has bought.

Pardon all my past transgressions,
Give me strength for days to come;
Guide and guard me with Thy blessing
Till Thy angels bid me home.

She Is Not Fair To Outward View

She is not fair to outward view
as many maidens be,
Her loveliness I never knew
until she smiled on me.
Oh, then I saw her eye was bright,
a well of love, a spring of light.

But now her looks are coy and cold,
to mine they never reply,
And, yet, I cease not to behold
the love-light in her eye.
Her very frowns are fairer far,
than smiles of other maidens are.
